
HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 24

Recognizing Joe Craddock for fifty years of dedicated service to
the citizens of Spencer and Roane County.
Whereas, Joe Craddock began his career as a Roane County
fireman in '50 when he joined Spencer's teenage fire department at
the age of sixteen; and
Whereas, Joe Craddock has served as assistant chief of the
Spencer-Roane Volunteer Fire Department for the past eight years;
and
Whereas, Since the time Joe Craddock joined Spencer teenage
fire department, the Spencer-Roane Volunteer Fire Department has
grown from one department with one truck to six departments with
thirty-two trucks; and
Whereas, Because of his hard work and dedication, the members
of the Spencer-Roane Volunteer Fire Department are equipped with
state of the art protective gear; and
Whereas, No Spencer-Roane firefighter has been seriously injured or killed in the line of duty; and
Whereas, In addition to providing fire protection for the
residents of Spencer and Roane County for the past fifty years, Joe
Craddock also worked for the telephone company for thirty-five
years; and
Whereas, The contributions of Joe Craddock to Spencer and Roane
County should not go unnoticed; therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Delegates:
That appreciation is expressed by the members of the House of
Delegates to Mr. Joe Craddock for his dedicated service to Spencer
and Roane County; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to Mr. Joe Craddock.
